Privacy Policy for ShipRocked.com
Last Updated: April 3, 2026
ShipRocked (operated by ASK4 Entertainment, LLC, referred to herein as “ShipRocked,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a multi-day rock music festival at sea. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you interact with our website, mobile app (if available), online reservation system powered by RezMagic, merchandise store, emails, customer support, social media channels, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
This Policy is designed to comply with applicable laws, including:
- U.S. laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
- The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom.
- Other relevant international data protection laws where applicable.
We act as the data controller for the personal data we collect through the Services, except where we process data on behalf of partners (e.g., Carnival Cruise Line for passenger manifests).
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account and Reservation Data: Full name, email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth, username/password, and preferences when you create an account, register for presale, or join our mailing list.
- Booking and Travel Information: Details for all guests in your booking (names, dates of birth, gender, passport or government ID numbers, nationality, emergency contacts). These are required for cruise manifests and compliance with Carnival Cruise Line and port regulations.
- Payment Information: Credit/debit card details and billing address. Payments are processed securely; we do not store full card numbers. Installment plans may be handled via partners such as FlexPay.
- Communications: Messages sent via contact forms, customer support, live chat, or email.
- Event and Merchandise Data: Activity preferences, special requests, voluntarily shared photos/videos, and purchase details through our Shopify-powered store.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device and usage data (IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent).
- Cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies.
- App data (if using the official app): approximate or precise location (with consent), push notification preferences.
C. Information from Third Parties
Data received from RezMagic (the platform powering our online reservation and booking system), Carnival Cruise Line, payment processors, analytics providers, marketing partners, and social media platforms (if you log in with Google, Facebook, etc.).
We limit collection of sensitive personal data (e.g., health information, racial/ethnic origin) to what is strictly necessary for legal cruise requirements or voluntarily provided in emergencies.
2. Legal Bases for Processing (International Compliance)
For users in the EEA, UK, or other regions with similar requirements, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR/UK GDPR:
- Performance of a contract: To process your booking, provide cruise services, and fulfill reservations made through the RezMagic-powered system.
- Legal obligation: To comply with cruise-line, port, immigration, and tax requirements (e.g., passenger manifests).
- Legitimate interests: To improve our Services, personalize experiences, conduct analytics, prevent fraud, and market similar products (with opt-out rights).
- Consent: For marketing communications, non-essential cookies, location tracking in the app, or optional features. You may withdraw consent at any time.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Process and manage reservations, payments, cabin assignments, and onboard experiences via the RezMagic reservation system.
- Communicate important updates, confirmations, and safety information.
- Personalize recommendations and improve the Services.
- Send marketing communications (newsletters, offers for future cruises) — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Conduct analytics, security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
- Fulfill obligations to partners such as Carnival Cruise Line.
4. How We Share or Disclose Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:
- Service Providers and Partners:
- RezMagic (our reservation system provider, based in the United States), which processes booking data on our behalf.
- Carnival Cruise Line for passenger manifests and operational requirements.
- Payment processors (e.g., FlexPay, Shopify Payments).
- Analytics, hosting, email/SMS, and customer support vendors.
- Legal and Safety Reasons: To comply with applicable laws, respond to valid legal requests, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, etc.).
- With Your Consent: For features such as social sharing or cabinmate finders.
- Aggregated/De-identified Data: For business insights (not reasonably linkable to you).
Passport and sensitive travel data are shared only as required for cruise operations, not for marketing.
5. Cookies, Tracking, and Do Not Track
We use essential, performance, and advertising cookies. You can manage preferences via our cookie banner or browser settings. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for opt-outs of targeted advertising where legally required. We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals that lack legal force.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures (encryption, access controls, secure servers) to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure. Keep your login credentials confidential and report any suspected unauthorized access immediately.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, to comply with legal obligations (including cruise and tax regulations), or to resolve disputes. Booking records are typically retained for at least 7 years after the cruise or as required by law. Marketing data is deleted or anonymized upon unsubscribe or request.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights (subject to verification and legal limitations):
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information for targeted advertising (via https://shiprocked.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out or GPC signal).
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, email us at reservations@ask4ent.com or shiprocked@ask4ent.com. We will respond within legally required timeframes (typically 30 days, extendable where permitted). California residents may also use the CCPA/CPRA-specific requests. EEA/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete it promptly. Parents/guardians may contact us for assistance.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers (including RezMagic and Carnival) operate. For transfers from the EEA, UK, or other restricted jurisdictions, we implement appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or other mechanisms approved under applicable law. You may request more information about these safeguards by contacting us.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The Services may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., Carnival Cruise Line, social media). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. The RezMagic-powered booking system is governed by this Policy when used through our site; separate terms may apply to direct access.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. The “Last Updated” date will be revised, and we will provide prominent notice for material changes. Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance.
